Honorary Edition | Aluminum Carousel Fountain Pen - Little Miss Jubilee

Writes quite nicely. I have it inked in a non shimmer, non sheen color currently and I love how the ink flows. Plus it’s a cute pen which I love!

I was a bit nervous about trying this upgraded aluminum version, especially since my regular Carousel never really met my expectations. But wow — this one completely changed my mind. The pen writes wonderfully: smooth, consistent, and far more refined than I expected. Any doubts I had disappeared the moment the nib touched the page.

I received the Little Miss Jubilee fountain pen (M nib) and was super excited, as it was my first expensive fountain pen in my collection. The pen is super light, and I find that I prefer to have the cap back on to give the pen some weight to write with. I filled it with a shimmer ink and it seems to flow well. The cap has "ridges" which helps prevent the pen from rolling around. Easy to assembly, easy to fill. The engraving on the pen is beautiful. I've used it for about 2 weeks and the ink flow seems to be good. Overall, a great pen!

It is gorgeous, I adore the colour and how glossy it is (though the brushed aluminium carousels are also lovely!). However, I only use this (and several of my alumininum carousels) for taking short notes. There is a consistent problem with ink flow, particularly on downstrokes, but also the longer I write, the more unreliable the flow is. This leads to a very frustrating writing experience, as I have to backtrack and rewrite parts of words that didn't make it. This is despite flushing the nib and trying different inks, as well as keeping the lower half of the page protected as I write. I would usually remove the nib entirely for a proper clean but haven't attempted this yet. The nib is not lined up with the feed, which I have noticed across a number of my aluminium carousels (interestingly, for my pen nerds, almost all the feeds are different numbers, there is not a consistently-used part across the range) - the most reliable one I have is the one where the nib and feed are properly aligned.

Lovely. Now, I just have to learn how to write with the pen.

This pen is fun to use. I have never bought a fountain pen before and this is a great way to start!
